Tony Burgess - A Geek for Life

Hillary Clinton needed two wins last night in the lastest round in this epic yet way too long presidential primary. North Carolina and Indiana were a split decision for Clinton and Obama. How long will this drag out? Hillary has even less chance to win now because the math still is not in her favor. You gotta know that John McCain is watching this with a bit of a smile and eagle eyed interest to see who he will face in November. As the group The Carpenters sings "We've Only Just Begun" this race is getting ready to head into another phase and that is the general election. Stay tuned. I hope she hangs on. It's not over til it's over and the FaY LaDy SiNgS and they (Clintons) know it. I was sick after Fl was stolen...one more Repub in the white for another 8-12 or 24 years and we'll be back to feudalism! (just my opinion, that i have every right to express--for those of you how will bash me)

No bashing here is there Tony? lol Just honest, down to earth disagreements. We dont need another 4 years of exactly what we have, but we sure dont need 4 years of what we had before either!!!

No we come to blows in my family. All die hard Repubs. i live in washington and am informed (hehehe). they are no slackers, industry, intelligence, pentagon military etc etc. I'm the ONLY one out here in my family that is.

I can tell you here and now what i really know. I campaigned with John McCain and it was a roller coaster. I even went to the Philly convention. After his lame policy for campaign finance and many other experiences i can in good conscience vote for him...it's a VERY large picture going back to AZ criminal investigation. My family (half) are in AZ now. Of course they love him as did i til i got an up close and personal perspective.

I imagine all politicians have that UgLy side. My sister (lifer in intelligence) say "nothing is what it appears to be!"

P.S. i feel good about expressing myself here bec i did my research and formed this opinion over a long period of time.

President Bush's focus on the War on Terror in my historical look was wrong. We shouldn't have gone to Iraq like we did. We should have focused on Afghanistan and other places where Al Queda and the Taliban were big. Finishing them off would have been the best move we could have made. The economy is another thing. Gas, food and the mortgage mess have wrecked our economy.

I agree we don't need four more of what we had but do we need four more of clinton? Is this the best we can do?

That is what I meant............we dont need 4 years of the Clintons again to disgrace this country all over.....but who??? I wish I could say for sure that this one or that one was exactly what we needed to turn this country around again and to be respected around the world, but more importantly, respected at home. Sad times we are living in, and I wouldnt have that job for any amount of fame or money.........period.

it is all very interesting to me, i have never seen a scrap like this in my lifetime. that people are actually turning out to vote in a primary is a good thing for the country, as apathetic as we have become...myself, I hardly ever miss a chance to vote--as if a white in the Delta district or a Democrat in Mississippi has any say anyhow, but that's just how I was raised by former Democrats.

Aside from the "moral" issues that taint Bill Clinton's presidential tenure---consider the state of the country. Good economy, healthy job market, strong U.S. presence in the global community, reduction of the ungodly Reagan year's deficits...now surpassed by another GOP President's years.

Say what you will about his fidelity to Mrs. Clinton---IMHO that's still a personal matter, not a political one unless made to be (as in his case*)---but when it came to governing Clinton's adminstration was superlative. As far as "kitchen table issues" and "back pocket" issues times were undeniabily much better in this country during the Clinton Administration's eight years.

*Historically MANY U.S. Presidents have been less than bedrock in the fidelity department---realistically, that issue became a weapon used to topple the Democratic foothold in the White House. If we are handing out accolades for morality in office--one needs go no further than Pres. Jimmy Carter. Most likely one of the MOST moral and decent individuals to ever hold the presidency.

PS-- As to the current race for the Democratic nomination, we STILL aren't excited by the dire issues at hand for this county. It's race and gender that are getting people out to vote in the primaries-----distracted (though excited) by superficial matters we AREN'T really getting down to the heart of the matters before this country!!! Sadly, no one wants to deal with those realitites and demand workable solutions---let's just get in a tizzie about what color or if you call the nominee Ma'am or Sir... *sigh* It's not a good time to be an American. I feel MUCH worse now than I did during Kenneth Starr's preposterous/expensive witch hunt.
